Maker of things. Designer of Experiences. Team Player.
I've worked at the Commercial Appeal for the past four years. I love it. Most of the projects you see on this page were created during that time. I hope you find them engaging, compelling, and memorable.
I take the lead on our various online presentations. I collaborate with our journalists, photographers, videographers, and many others. We are passionate and determined to create fascinating experiences for online readers.
I also own Memphis Threat and Hoop City Memphis, which started with a single pro-Memphis design in 2008 and has since grown to more than thirty community-centric original designs that have been sold across the country and featured in the Memphis Flyer and Daily News.
I am regularly invited to speak to students at the University of Memphis and Christian Brothers University about Art, Design, and Online Journalism.
For years now I've said "If you expect people to care about something, you have to inspire them first." It's my job to inspire people - not just people online, but the people around me every day.
After all, everyone needs to be inspired.
I'm commited to the power of the digital world. I'm passionate about crafting uniquely effective online experiences. I'm determined to surround myself with talented people. Ideally, I want to honestly and compassionately use strategy, technology, and design to effectively engage people.
I want to make things that are easy to absorb, easy to use, and easy to understand, but hard to forget.
